The person that stands in front of the camera enters a sort of emotional "limb", a "ghostly" state, in which the subject looses cognition of who he is. I try to avoid dealing with this awkward state of conscience and prefer to shoot candid portraits and spontaneous emotions, making sure the subject is not aware of my photographic activity, when possible.
